Throughout his career, Akin has provided 1:1 coaching to senior leaders and built coaching capability within organizations. Akin is a talent and organization development expert.  He has partnered with many leaders on a wide range of challenges including project culture, business development, career progression, and dealing with change and ambiguity. He builds trust and credibility with stakeholders and target audiences with a strong skillset of appreciative inquiry, discovery, listening, and questioning.

Before joining Kintla, Akin worked at Bechtel, a global engineering and construction company, as their Talent & Organization Development manager, delivering programs within all of their business lines across Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India. While at Bechtel, he delivered a series of leadership, team, and customer alignment activity and, through applying principles of behavioral science, developed interventions that drove cultural change. Akin also supported business development activity within Bechtel’s Infrastructure business line, focusing on collaboration, coaching, and behavioral assessment.

Prior to joining Bechtel, Akin spent 8 years as an OD consultant.  His clients included Chevron in Kazakhstan and Jacobs in the UK.

He was responsible for developing the capability of 1200 leaders, managers and front-line supervisors across the Atomic Weapons Establishment transformation program in the UK where he was also responsible for delivering Lockheed Martin’s Full Spectrum Leadership program which included 1:1 coaching and assessing.

For International Training Services, Akin provided bespoke learning and development services to clients throughout the UK and abroad in both public and private sectors. He also provided individual coaching and mentoring across all management levels at City and Guilds and the Assets Recovery Agency.

Akin’s notable successes include developing a Reverse Mentoring Program for the Department for Education senior management team in the UK. The 1-year program offered mentors the ILM Level 3 Certificate in workplace Mentoring and supporting their Diversity and Inclusion strategy.

Akin was educated in the UK, he has a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor’s degree in History from University College London. He also has a certificate in personnel practice from the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development).
